OBEY/Metropark Results!

*Correction! I am apparently an idiot who misunderstood the rules, as it turns out my shirt will NOT be printed and sold in stores. A bummer, but I still get a bunch of sweet swag, and my gratitude toward all of you who supported still burns in my veins!!! THANK YOU!

Results are in! I have officially been selected as the second Runner-up in the men's design Public Works competition! I would like to thank ALL who voted and sent words of encouragement, I could not have done it without you! So, I am not sure when the shirt will hit stores, but keep your eyes peeled for this guy in a Metropark near you!

Still Kickin'

Just wanted anyone who follows the crap I put on this blog that I am indeed working on a new project. However, I don't have permission to post anything yet, so I will try and post some images of some personal work, but it may be sparse for a while. Love you.

Revenant Film Festival Official Poster

So one of the projects I have just recently completed was creating the official poster for the Revenant Film Festival!
My good man Geoff at Revenant Magazine hit me up a while back, and here is the monster we have created!

This project was a fuckin' blast to do, and I am pretty pleased with the way things came out. Below are a few process sketches and color-ups, and I wanted to work in an homage to Forrest J. Ackerman's Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine covers, so that was fun too. Anyway, if you can make it up to Seattle for this momentous, gory, brain-splattering festival of Undead Cinema, get info and tickets HERE! Thanks again to Geoff and everyone at Revenant for the great opportunity!

Initial rough sketch and color idea:

Sketch for final piece:

And this is what I had originally intended as the style, but when it was in process I knew it was just going to be too goddamn muddy and confusing, so I reworked the sketch and colored it up in a more graphic style for the final. I hate how this one looks, except for the blood and guts, they look alright. Too dark and confusing on the rest.

Super cheap, four shirt-color options, both men's and women's, is there any reason you shouldn't own one? But for real, your votes are appreciated!

Josh Von Mink Flyer

Another flyer for my good friend, Josh Von Mink of The Vintage Mink. If you haven't heard this guy's work, check him out. One talented mother@#%!er. This was a lot of fun to do, and with the blank area at the bottom he can write in the dates to each individual show.

Our Time in the Trees

This is a piece I did for my folks for Xmas. A little late, but I thought it would be cool to post it. A bit different from how I normally work, but I think it is good for me to keep practicing some range. It is of my brother and I as kids.

The Return to Darkness

So, coming up on the 6th of the month is the "This is the End" group show being held at the Alternative Cafe in Seaside, CA. It is being curated by Joshua Graves, owner and operator of The Creep Machine. I was very fortunate to be in his last endeavor, "Attack of the B Movie" last April here in San Francisco, and it was an honor to be asked to participate in the new show. My piece is titled, "The Return to Darkness," and is 6"x10" and is in a big, elaborate frame (I will post a pic of it once I get a good one at the show) and is being sold for $425.

I would have sold it for less, but once all of the framing and shipping and commission are taken out of it, there won't be much profit. But, that is not the point (at least not right now!) it is just going to be great showing work with some fairly big guns. Check out the preview site HERE! And, if you happen to be in the area, swing on by on the 6th and party with us at the opening!

Calabrese Web Graphic

So, I recently did another project for Calabrese involving a big sale they are promoting on their website. This band kicks ass, and their merch is really sweet, so check it all out. It really is a great deal they are offering. SO, here is the initial sketch and the final artwork I produced to aid their sale.

Wolfman

"Even a man who is pure in heart,
And says his prayers by night,
May become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms,
And the autumn moon is bright."
-Gypsy Poem

I cannot express through words how much I love the Wolfman. One of the most tragic characters in horror history, and as far as I am concerned, Lon Chaney, Jr. presented the greatest werewolf of all time. I hope the upcoming remake will pay the homage it deserves. Anyway, here is my take (still in progress) of the famous Wolfman.
