The Return to Darkness

So, coming up on the 6th of the month is the "This is the End" group show being held at the Alternative Cafe in Seaside, CA. It is being curated by Joshua Graves, owner and operator of The Creep Machine. I was very fortunate to be in his last endeavor, "Attack of the B Movie" last April here in San Francisco, and it was an honor to be asked to participate in the new show. My piece is titled, "The Return to Darkness," and is 6"x10" and is in a big, elaborate frame (I will post a pic of it once I get a good one at the show) and is being sold for $425.

I would have sold it for less, but once all of the framing and shipping and commission are taken out of it, there won't be much profit. But, that is not the point (at least not right now!) it is just going to be great showing work with some fairly big guns. Check out the preview site HERE! And, if you happen to be in the area, swing on by on the 6th and party with us at the opening!

Calabrese Web Graphic

So, I recently did another project for Calabrese involving a big sale they are promoting on their website. This band kicks ass, and their merch is really sweet, so check it all out. It really is a great deal they are offering. SO, here is the initial sketch and the final artwork I produced to aid their sale.

Monster Behind the Mask

This is a new piece I am thinking of using for the entrance of my updated website. Eventually it will have some sort of background, but they are hard for me, so I am showing it alone for now. Enjoy!

Wolfman

"Even a man who is pure in heart,
And says his prayers by night,
May become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms,
And the autumn moon is bright."
-Gypsy Poem

I cannot express through words how much I love the Wolfman. One of the most tragic characters in horror history, and as far as I am concerned, Lon Chaney, Jr. presented the greatest werewolf of all time. I hope the upcoming remake will pay the homage it deserves. Anyway, here is my take (still in progress) of the famous Wolfman.

Represent. Green life, suckas.

This is the design I submitted for a contest on www.greeneyed.com, a really cool company that makes reusable tote bags for shopping and such. If you like it, you can vote for me HERE and help me to win 500 bones to help me pay off some student loans. And buy wine. Lots and lots of wine. Seriously though, check them out, there is some cool stuff on there, including designs by the Notorious K.O.B, and TuRic Shakur. Wordemup, youse guys.

Snallygaster Book

So, a few weeks ago I received an amazing gift...2 SIGNED COPIES OF "SNALLYGASTER: The Lost Legend of Frederick County"! This was a fantastic project I worked on with the author, Patrick Boyton. Here are a few glimpses of parts of the book I worked on, and you should all do yourselves a HUGE favor, and buy this beast HERE. Check out the official site, www.marylandmonster.com and show the dreaded Snallygaster some love. MAKES A GREAT HOLIDAY GIFT!

Moving Along

Alright kids, so some things are now officially in motion, now I just have to wait...sorry, I worry about revealing too much for worry of superstition. Sorry, when I find out one way or another, I will tell all. Anyway, the cartoon stuff has been a refresher, but I am ready to get back to a grittier, more textured process, so this may be the last post of the fun-lovin' stuff for a while. I am working on updating my website, though, and am most likely going to have a cartoon-type section, so keep your eyes out. I love you all. Skeleface or die.

Urban Threads Wrap Up

Ok, to bring this full circle, here are a couple of pictures of how the Urban Threads Halloween design I did turned out for practical application. I dig it a lot, and I use this bag for everything. Breaking the silence with SCREAMS OF HORROR!

Hey Folks,

So, I am settled in San Francisco, have reliable internet, have somewhat of an idea as to how my scheduling works, and am ready to get back on the horse named "Blog." To begin with, I will wrap up a couple of tabled topics.

First, here are some images accepted into a group show in Massachusetts called "Passages of Death." The show is curated by Art and Discord, and it will be held at the Visions Art Gallery from November 1st through December 3rd. The show revolves around the ideas of death and the afterlife, so, obviously, I chose to contribute monsters, ghosts, and ghouls.

The Weeping Creep (Framed Print for $100)

The Spectre (Framed Print for $100)

Monster Kid (Framed Print for $100)

If anyone is interested in purchasing prints of these images (or any other, for that matter) just shoot me an email and I will get you pricing options.

I will write again soon, I promise. It is great to be back with all of you.
